You asked for it here it is:
DSZ compatible Zmodem for Amiga.
Pretty simple to use, if you know how to use DSZ for IBM then it's just
about the same except there are two separate programs for send and
receive. The programs will not work with Online!,Comm,GT,Atalk III,Diga!
Maxicom,Aterm,Access or most others. So you say what will it work with,
Dave weckers VT100 v2.9. Anyhow it will still work with those others,
you just have to exit the terminal program then enter "run rz or sz"
kinda like how IBM does it, but there terminal programs have Drop to dos
feature. Over all I like Online v2.11 the best, but it's send Zmodem is
slow 256 byte blocks, so I just exit Online and type SZ file1 file2 to
send Zmodem batch, to receive I just use Online!'s Zmodem. I have had
very good luck with SZ and PCP, 1800 thruoughouput at 2400 baud.
RZ and SZ both have mini terminal programs built into them, to activate
them enter as follows:
SZ -T file1 file2 file3 (switches are case sensitive)
RZ -T (if you are to use Zmodem, enter nothing but RZ)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyhow to get info just enter either
SZ with no space after sz to get info on sending
RZ -? to get info on receiving a file.
Like I said, this is just like DSZ, it supports Z,Y,X modem all in one.
I'l get the docs later, BTW I got this off of USENET.
Now how about getting more terminal programs to support external protocals
such as these, how about TeleLink,Sealink,MegaLink,Super kermit,Wxmodem.
There is no reason why Amiga can't do this just like MS-DOS computers do,
it would be a heck of a lot better to have all protocals External such as
these and beable to update the protocal drivers on a regular basis or have
other programers develop other protocals and enhancements.. Come on people
start demanding Features we want and Need! from terminal programs, look
at Procom Plus for IBM, only $79.00 retail and $40.00 mail order, what do
we get for the price of our terminal programs ??? not much compaired to
Procom Plus.
